Advanced Grammar — Voice, narration, clauses and conditionals.

Rules

1. In passive voice the object becomes the subject: The rat was chased by the cat. 2. Form: be + past participle (+ by + agent). 3. The tense of "be" matches the active tense. 4. Use passive when the doer is unknown or unimportant: The window was broken.

Explanation

Change: active object → passive subject; active verb → be + past participle; active subject → by + object. "The letter was written by Ravi".
