Advanced Grammar upper_intermediate hard
A clause that acts like a noun: subject, object or complement.
Advanced Grammar — Voice, narration, clauses and conditionals.
1. Starters: that, whether, if, wh-words — I know that he is honest. 2. As subject: That he lied is obvious. 3. As object: She said that she was busy. 4. After prepositions: We talked about what happened. 5. Reported speech uses noun clauses: He asked where I lived. 6. In noun clauses keep statement word order, not question order: I don't know where he lives (not "where does he live").
A noun clause answers "what?" — I believe (what?) that you are right. Keep statement order inside the clause.
