Prepositions intermediate medium
In for position; into for movement to the inside.
Prepositions — Time, place and direction prepositions.
1. "In" = position inside: The keys are in the bag. 2. "Into" = movement to the inside: She walked into the room. 3. "Into" also means becoming: The caterpillar turned into a butterfly. 4. After verbs of movement use into; after position use in.
In = static position; into = motion towards the inside. "He jumped into the pool" (movement); "He is in the pool" (position).
