Tenses — Expressing time: present, past and future.

Rules

1. Form: will + base verb — She will come. 2. Negative: will not (won't) + base. 3. Question: Will + subject + base? 4. Uses: prediction (It will rain), promise (I will help you), spontaneous decision (I'll open the door). 5. "Be going to" for plans and intentions: I am going to visit my grandmother.

Explanation

"Will" is for decisions made at the moment of speaking; "be going to" is for pre-planned intentions. Both are future; "will" is more neutral.

Practice Questions

Q1. Translate into English: "मैं तुम्हारा इंतज़ार करूँगा।"

Answer: I will wait for you.

💡 Promise → will + base verb.

Q2. Translate into English: "तुम कब वापस आओगे?"

Answer: When will you come back?

💡 WH-question in the future → when + will + subject + base verb.

Q3. Translate into English: "मुझे लगता है कल ठंड होगी।"

Answer: I think it will be cold tomorrow.

💡 Prediction → will + be.
