Rules

1. Countable: book, apple, student — have plurals, use a/an, many, few. 2. Uncountable: water, rice, information, furniture, advice, money — no plural, use much, little, some. 3. Use a piece of / a glass of / a loaf of for uncountables: a piece of advice, a glass of water. 4. Some nouns are countable in other languages but uncountable in English: information, advice, homework, luggage, furniture, equipment. 5. "A lot of / some" work with both.

Explanation

The classic Indian-English error: "an advice", "these informations". These are uncountable in English — say "a piece of advice", "this information".

हिंदी में

Countable nouns गिने जा सकते हैं (book, apple); uncountable नहीं (water, information)। Uncountable के साथ much/little आता है।
